Winter 2021

Gloucestershire Heritage Hub

Welcome to the January 2021 edition of the Heritage Hub e.newsletter

Once again the Heritage Hub is closed until further notice in accordance with government requirements to combat coronavirus. Most staff are working from home. A few unable to do their work from home continue to work in the building, including our copy certificates colleagues from the registration service. Sadly volunteers and visitors are not allowed in. Once we have a re-opening date we will announce it on our website, on social media and let volunteers and partners know.

This isn’t quite how we would wish to celebrate the completion of the For the Record building project. In early December 2020, we signed off the completion certificate for the building. We’d like to thank Beards for picking up the project part-way through following Lakehouse’s sudden departure from site and subsequent liquidation. Despite the challenges along the way, we’re delighted with our completed building. We have a few elements of our For the Record activity plan to deliver but are on target to complete the project by 30 June 2021.   We’re very grateful to Gloucestershire County Council, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and our many other funders (large and small) for their support of this transformational project. For more information read Blogging a Building (23) – the end of an era, by Heather Forbes

Until we re-open, we have re-introduced the weekly volunteer zoom meetings. Read the Zoom Boom article for more information. Lockdown activities and resources are also still available -  click here to access

We hope you are all keeping well and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Heritage Hub very soon.
