In 2018 we wish the Forest of Dean Local History Society a very happy 70th birthday.  We also look forward to sharing our new home with Gloucestershire Family History Society and the Police History volunteers later this year.

Following a two-week break over Christmas, building work is now progressing apace. We are due to move into the main building end of March 2018 (Phase 1).  Phase 2 (the new entrance, the training suite and the basic landscaping) is due to be completed end of July 2018.  If you’d like to comment on our proposed opening hours for the new Hub please see Opening hours consultation

The building work is gathering pace with much activity taking place inside and outside the building.

Most of the interior walls have now been drylined.               Windows have been opened up making some of the rooms much lighter.
