Special Constables at Badminton

As usual the Police Archive volunteers are working on a variety of projects and expanding the knowledge of our history.

One of our volunteers is interested in the Special Constables who worked at Badminton during the second war.

This photograph appears in a copy of The Special Magazine and also in the Royal Archives. We are trying to name the Specials, can you help?

 

 

We are also researching John Lippet, Dick Townsend and William Shute all police officers who all fought at the battle of Katia/Qatia in April 1916 with the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars and still looking for further information on them ready for our Remembrance commemorations later this year.

We are always on the lookout for general information and photos. It is amazing what people have in their lofts.

is usually open Monday to Wednesday until 2.30 but it is worth checking before you make a visit as we do go out and about quite often.
