Summer 2020

Gloucestershire Heritage Hub

Working our socks off!

We have all been working our socks off in lockdown as the volunteers asked for work to do at home before the archives closed.

Queries to the website haven’t stopped coming in and the view from the new office is better than the view onto the railway line from the office at the Heritage Hub

The photo below arrived by email. The badge featured was found in a garden in Mangotsfield. A little research led us to be able to tell the person who found it where we thought they lived, we gave them a choice of 3 addresses and it was one of them! A little further research led us to the officer that we thought might have lost it or buried it on purpose.

We have also appeared in a Swedish motoring magazine as we contributed to a feature on British Panda cars.

There have been 23 queries via the website....just a minute...make that 24 as another has just come in as I am writing this. Lots of people have been sorting and submitting photographs I don’t know where they find the time!!!

We have also been busy re-scheduling talks that were booked for the spring and summer and hope to start again in October depending on what the new normal is.

We are looking forward to getting back to seeing people and answering questions/queries face to face.
