Spring 2021

Gloucestershire Heritage Hub

Welcome to the latest edition of the Heritage Hub e.newsletter

Spring has arrived and we are making plans to re-open Gloucestershire Archives in the next few weeks.  We will confirm the date on our website and on social media after the Prime Minister confirms the data meets his requirements for the next phase of re-opening (including libraries, archives etc), and the County Council’s senior management sign off our proposals.

We will still require pre-booking, face coverings, social distancing and quarantining of documents, as before, but very much look forward to welcoming you back.   With the better weather you’ll be able to take full advantage of our community garden for your breaks.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and have developed a series of talks, workshops and children’s activities for you and your families to enjoy from home  – check out the Events tab for further details   We’re also developing our new online catalogue and will introduce you to this during May.  The improved catalogue is one of the final parts of the major For the Record transformation project which concludes in summer 2021. We know from previous customer surveys and feedback that this was a priority area for many of you (read more here).  As part of our evaluation of For the Record, and forward planning for the next 10 years, we will be undertaking another customer survey during April and May and very much look forward to hearing from you.
