Sue with her award flanked by Police Chief Constable, Rob Hanson and the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire, Charles Berkeley.

The award took place on 2 March 2020 at Police Headquarters.

In his address the High Sheriff' said about Sue -

'Sue is passionate about archives and provides a unique service to the Constabulary in a quest to preserve the forces history for future generations to enjoy. in the relatively short time that Sue has been in her role, she has been invaluable in providing the link to set up the new archive facility at the Heritage Hub facility in Gloucester, which now enables our archives to be easily shared with the public, researchers and historians alike.

She receives many requests about former officers, often from their families, and is able to provide them with their relatives' personal history, strengthening our bonds with former colleagues and their descendants. Sue gives regular talks to local history societies, painstakingly researching the area she will be visiting to help them understand the important contribution the Constabulary has made to their area. She is totally committed to this task and will also undertake these talks in her own time, such is her passion and dedication to her work.

Dedicating weeks of her time to providing a superb display at the Open Day for Constabulary and Office of the Police and Crime Commission (OPCC), Sue is keen to provide something new each year, from dressing up items with vintage uniform to making prison gruel for children to try.

Sue's passion and commitment to her role is exceptional and she is a huge asset to the Forces and indeed Gloucestershire.

We are delighted to recognise Sue today and thank her for keeping our history alive.'

Well done Sue from everyone at the Heritage Hub.
