Autumn 2022

Gloucestershire Heritage Hub

Welcome to the October 2022 autumn edition of the Heritage Hub e.newsletter

In September the Heritage Hub hosted talks and events as part of the Voices Gloucester community programme.

The Heritage Schools initiative funded by Historic England and attended by teachers from 14 schools was a particular highlight.  You can read more HERE

Many more events were held in other interesting locations across the city too.  The Sherborne Cinema hosted the premier of the two Kindertransport films commissioned by the Archives (read more HERE), whilst the Picturedrome in Barton Street hosted the premier of a short but moving film about Gloucester’s first inter-racial marriage and an exhibition of Gloucester’s carnival processions over the years.

The blue plaque outside 18 Alexandra Rd remembering the home where10 refugee Jewish boys lived who were sent to England on the Kindertransport.

We look forward to many more fruitful collaborations over the coming years.
