Going from strength to strength
Gloucestershire Police Archives is going from strength to strength with 7 volunteers all working hard to get the archives ready for the move to the Heritage Hub. We have also got several invisible volunteers who give us assistance via the website and to identify faces on photos held in the archives in Stroud Police station.
We are also working with the artists linked to the Heritage Hub which has helped us to find things deep in the corners of the storage areas.
There are several projects in hand as next year sees the 100th anniversary of women officers and the 60th anniversary of the Police Rugby Football Club. We are hoping that these topics will bring a flood on information through the website gloucestershirepolicearchives.org.uk and the Gloucestershire Centenary of Women Police Officers project will lead to more collaborative working with Gloucestershire Archives and Tetbury Police museum.
